IP/Trademark Registration
The Intellectual Property (IP) associated with a business name or system can be one of its most valuable assets but only if it is properly protected. Any business that wishes to establish a national or international identity should take steps to protect the use of its name, logo or other relevant IP correctly.
The only effective way to guard business IP is to register a trademark or service mark in each jurisdiction in which one wishes to be protected or intends to carry on business.

Types of Intellectual Property
There are several types of intellectual property but the three most common ones are trademark, copyright, and patent.
A trademark is used to refer to a symbol, phrase, and design that helps to identify a company. A good example of a trademark is the logo of a company. Another good example is a catchphrase that a company uses.
A patent is a process or something that helps solve a problem that a company or innovator develops. A patent is used to protect an innovation. For example, the Bluetooth feature in a smartphone industry was developed and patented by a conglomerate of companies like Nokia, Intel, Ericsson, and IBM. This means that all companies that use Bluetooth must pay these companies.
A copyright is a right that is given automatically to a person who has created original work. This includes things like art, music, poem, and book.
At GFSC Global, we help local and international businesses and creators register and defend their intellectual property internationally. Our employees are experienced in working with leading organizations like the World Intellectual Property Organization, Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market, and the European Union Intellectual Property Office among others.
